My friend, you just received another like! This works on a laptop I own (Sony Vaio Fit E) which is 7 years old just fine. Tracking is buttery smooth, and I get all the Windows gestures with it, without any sort of malfunction I got using previous videos! My trackpad is a Synaptics SMbus ClickPad.
